Who is it meant for?

Zero injection modality

We set up photovoltaic self-consumption Facilities of zero injection, those connected to the network but with zero injection into the electricity network through a non-injection system that prevents the energy generated by the solar panels from ending up in the network. Thus, all the energy generated is self-consumed, and if there is some surplus an inverters modulation system is used to ensure zero injection into the grid.

Selling surplus modality

In Sofos we also set up photovoltaic self-consumption Facilities with the advantage that the surplus energy is sold to the distribution network. The difference with the zero injection facilities is that the no injection system is needed and instead an approved by the electricity distributor bidirectional meter is installed.

The isolated photovoltaic is especially suitable for companies that do not have access to the electricity network and want to improve competitiveness by saving on energy costs, such as diesel.

The isolated photovoltaic facilities consist of solar panels that generate DC electricity from the sun irradiation, inverters that convert the DC power into AC for later consumption and batteries for storing excess production. With these systems, a high energy demand is covered supported by the installation of a generator. This serves to cover the demand for several days in cases of a lack of energy production.

Biomass plants

Biomass plants, through efficient and clean processes, produce energy out of organic matter coming from a vegetable or animal origin (such as residues from forestry and agriculture and the agro-industry, wood or paper, energy crops, waste of animal or human origin, used vegetable oils, etc.)

Since prehistoric times, the most common way of using biomass energy has been through direct combustion. Technological advances have enabled the development of efficient and clean biomass for energy conversion processes; for example transforming it into liquid or gaseous fuels, which are more convenient and efficient.

In Sofos we perform feasibility studies to determine what kind of biomass facility is best suited for the energy needs of each client.

Solar thermal

Sofos sets up solar thermal systems that take advantage of the radiant energy from the sun to heat water circulating through solar collectors making the utmost of the greenhouse effect, the selective characteristics of the cover and the absorbing surface. Between the inlet and outlet of water passing through the panels, an energy usable thermal gap is produced, both for heating and cooling the water.

Given that the sun emits 400,000 times more energy than the energy consumed on the planet, it is a future opportunity for the environment as well as an economically profitable investment for the user.


Cogeneration is the simultaneous generation of heat and electricity through a process of high efficiency energy, respectful with the environment, which ensures the power supply by setting values of trust and security.

This process takes advantage efficiently of the potential energy of the primary energy fuel. A cogeneration plant consumes between 20 and 40% less fuel to produce the same amount of energy as a separate installation generating electricity and thermal energy.

Sofos recommends such facilities to those sectors that consume thermal energy regularly during the year, either in industrial processes (paper industry, dairy, ceramics, food), or in large public and private buildings (hospitals, large sports centres, hotels , etc.). Thanks to cogeneration their overall energy costs will be significantly reduced and if a surplus of electricity is produced, they can opt to sell it to the power company.


Sofos has a highly qualified team for the realization of biogas projects. It is a renewable and profitable energy that takes advantage of organic waste from landfills or other waste from livestock to generate electric and thermal (heat) energy.

Biogas is a gas produced during a biological process consisting of an anaerobic digestion (without oxygen) of organic matter. As a result from this digestion organic waste (bio-fertilizer) and energy is obtained. Biogas is mixture of flammable gases consisting mainly of methane and carbon dioxide. The energy recovery is carried out in the same way as natural gas, that is, as thermal energy and electrical energy, by cogeneration technology. Furthermore it contributes to the management of waste.


In Sofos Energy we offer an operation and maintenance service of the facilities to ensure the proper functioning and efficiency of the system throughout its lifetime.

Preventive Maintenance

Sofos inspects and verifies the panels, wiring, inverters, trackers and protections for possible anomalies of the equipment and checks the correct status of the plant.

In addition, the preventive maintenance service also includes service for the weekends and holidays, reports and periodic maintenance visits and mechanical revisions of the trackers.


Through our own system of monitiring Sofos can detect instantly and automatically any matter relating to the production of the plant, additionally we can provide the client with the graphical production in real time, the graphical summary of daily production, monthly and yearly as well as the possibility to consult the production record.

Corrective maintenance

When detected an incident in the installation, Sofos activates a protocol to amend, in the shortest time possible, the failure and avoid significant production loss.

Sofos offers its estoc material and spare parts management and customer guarantees.

Management of regulations and billing
